Re: Agenda

Due to my absence I want to quickly address a couple of agenda items.

We are finally able to wrap up the Hope Housing Project. This project in theory was very good. However, unforeseen items limited the scope. Once I was caught up to speed on the project I discovered a number of elements that had been over-looked. As a Landlord, we must provide things that typically a Municipality doesn't provide. Nevertheless, we have adapted and will open these units for rent this next month. Anytime you renovate an existing older structure, you will find issues and unknowns. You hope your architects and engineers evaluate the facility and find most issues. Sometimes the project gets costly when items are discovered. I think in this project, our architects missed some items and our contractors had issues.

I'm very pleased that our staff was able to find concerns before the project was completed. It's been a challenge; however staff has done what they can to help this project wrap up. If you have any questions regarding the change orders please ask Debra Blanchard or Arnold Adams (they will be available if needed).

We will finish up the HUD contracts and rents applications. We hope to have those out in July.

City Hall is progressing and we are pleased with Joe D. Hall and the subs. If you have questions about the project, Arnold Adams will be available.

The Water Line Relocation US 183 permit has been issued by DEQ. This project was designed by Garver Engineers. This was designed and applied prior to my term as Manager. This is a 1815 linear feet of 8 inch PVC water line. We must move quickly and need Garver to begin the bid process. If you have detail questions regarding this project, please ask Arnold Adams.
